IIM Visakhapatnam Welcomes the Second Cohort of Canara Bank’s Leadership Development Programme
Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam welcomed the second cohort of its Leadership Development Programme for senior executives of Canara Bank, reinforcing its commitment to industry-focused executive education and leadership development.
Conducted in collaboration with Canara Bank, one of India’s largest public sector banks, the initiative is designed to train over 100 executives across three batches. The three-day programme brings together 39 Scale IV Executives from across the country.
Prof. Mohammad Shameem Jawed, Programme Director, welcomed the participants and introduced the programme, which covers key areas including operational risk management, cybersecurity for leaders, leadership in regulated banking, ethics and governance, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and banking data governance.
Addressing the participants, Shri CH S. S. Mallikarjuna Rao, Independent Director on the Board of Axis Bank Ltd. and Director on the Board of Indian Financial Technology and Allied Services (IFTAS), highlighted the evolving leadership challenges in the banking sector and encouraged participants to embrace continuous learning, adaptability, and responsible leadership.
The programme is being led by Prof. Vijaya Marisetty and Prof. Mohammad Shameem Jawed and features sessions by distinguished industry experts. As a BGA-accredited institution and an AACSB member, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to advance management education through impactful executive learning initiatives that bridge academic excellence and industry practice.
