ICMR Mid-Career Management Development Programme Batch 6
IIM Visakhapatnam successfully concluded the sixth batch of the two-week Mid-Career Management Development Programme for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), bringing together 31 senior scientists from various ICMR centres across India.
Dr. Alka Sharma, Additional Director General, ICMR, graced the valedictory session as the Chief Guest virtually. Congratulating the participants, she encouraged them to transition from individual researchers to scientific leaders. She emphasised translating research into tangible outcomes through technology transfer, policy reforms and inter-institutional collaboration, while highlighting the role of scientific leadership in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Led by Prof. Prashant Premkumar Nair, Programme Director, and Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, Programme Co-Director, the programme provided participants with an opportunity to strengthen their managerial and leadership capabilities. Participants reflected on the programme's value beyond research, particularly in broadening their perspectives on leadership, collaboration and scientific administration.
With its five-year BGA accreditation and AACSB membership, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to strengthen its commitment to management education and executive development, supporting leadership and capacity building across sectors.
