Certificate Program in Research and Development Management for the Scientists of DRDO
The “R&D Management” program is being conducted by IIM Visakhapatnam for scientists and officers of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
This four-week intensive residential capacity-building program is designed to develop and enhance the managerial and strategic capabilities of professionals working in R&D-driven environments. In an era of rapid technological change, effective management of research, innovation, and technology development is crucial to achieving national goals in science and defence.
The program focuses on enabling participants to conceptualize, plan, and implement R&D strategies that lead to the development of technologies, systems, and products with potential for productionization and deployment. It covers a wide range of topics including R&D planning, resource management, technology development and evaluation, commercialization, and organizational effectiveness in R&D ecosystems.
Delivered through an immersive, experience-rich pedagogy by expert faculty and industry practitioners, the program blends lectures, case studies, group discussions, and project-based learning. It equips participants with new perspectives and practical skills to manage human, technical, and institutional resources, and to lead R&D programs from ideation to application.
