Capacity Building Program on Applications of AI/ML
As India accelerates the use of AI in governance, 33 government officials working on projects ranging from Gaganyaan and weather forecasting to coal management and e-governance have come together at IIM Visakhapatnam for the Capacity Building Program on Applications of AI/ML. The two-day initiative is conducted under the aegis of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
The Chief Guest for the inauguration, Shri Ravi Kiran Edara, IRS, Additional Director General at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN), addressed the participants. He highlighted the strength of a diverse cohort, the importance of large language model training and pattern recognition and shares key takeaways from the recent AI Impact Summit. He also encouraged participants to maintain thorough documentation as they continue their AI journeys.
Led by Prof. Abhishek Srivastava and Prof. Srinivas Josyula, the programme covers key areas including Foundations of AI/ML, AI/ML Tools and Techniques, AI Applications in Government, AI Strategy and Governance, and AI Laws and Ethics.
The programme enables the cohort to deepen their understanding and amplify the impact of their work across sectors.
