EDITOR’S NOTE

Dear Reader,

We are pleased to share with you the fourteenth issue of IIM (V)ibes, a quarterly newsletter that covers news
from our Institute in Visakhapatnam. Compiled for all its numerous stakeholders, this newsletter chronicles
and showcases the ongoing life and activities at Sunrise IIM. The current issue of the newsletter covers news
and events between January and April 2024. It brings to you news about various matters, including program
inaugurations, research, student achievements, and other important events.
We have also shared details of both Final and Summer placements, reflecting our Institute’s legacy of

consistently delivering 100% placements. IIMV also recently hosted its 8th Annual Convocation in March this
year, bidding farewell to 267 PGP (MBA) graduates, 16 from PGPEx/Executive MBA, and 2 PhD scholars,
with eight receiving prestigious gold medals.Our faculty’s publications and recent achievements highlight the
commitment of our versatile and vibrant community. A patent was granted by The Patent Office, Government
of India, for “A system and method for contact reminder in real time using artificial intelligence-based facial

recognition.” Additionally, the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) awarded a grant of Rs.
95.60 lakh for the project “Swavalamban - STEM (Skills To Enterprise Model),” aimed at enhancing the
capabilities of 30 aspiring entrepreneurs. These accomplishments underscore our institution’s innovative
spirit and dedication.
The Executive Education Programs hosted a total of 19 MDPs and FDPs and provided customized training
to industry professionals, faculty members, and research scholars from a variety of organizations. We have
also included some noteworthy updates from IIMV Foundation for Incubation Entrepreneurial Learning and

Development (IIMV FIELD), which is the incubation and startup hub of IIMV.

We hope you get as much joy knowing all about our Institute activities as we had in

collecting and bringing them to you.
