      ALUMNI MEET REPORT — DELHI CHAPTER 2023

         19TH AUGUST 2023, SATURDAY

      Venue: The Ocean Pearl Retreat, Chattarpur, New Delhi

      The Alumni Delhi Chapter Meet for the year 2023 was organized by the Indian Institute of
      Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) on 19th August at The Ocean Pearl Retreat, Delhi. The
      event brought together approximately 30 enthusiastic alumni who arrived at the venue by 8
      pm. The IIMV team warmly welcomed the alumni, setting the stage for an engaging and
      memorable evening.

      The Alumni Meet commenced with a series of interactive ice-breaking activities designed to
      foster a sense of camaraderie among the attendees. This was followed by a gracious welcome
      address  delivered  by  Mr.  Somashekara,  In  charge  of  the  Alumni  Office  at  [IMV.  Ms.  Sruthi

      Cheruvullil  and  Ms.  Prajna  Revu,  Senior  Coordinators  of  the  Alumni  Committee  at  [IMV,  took
      the stage to provide the alumni with insights into the past and upcoming alumni activities
      orchestrated by the Institute. The evening continued with a presentation highlighting the
      noteworthy accomplishments in placements, presented by Mr. Nitin Mohanty, from the Senior
      Placement team at IIMV.

      Key points covered during the Alumni Meet included:

      Updates about the Institute:

      The alumni were thrilled to learn about  IIMV’s impressive NIRF ranking of 29th among
      management institutes across India, securing a prominent position among the new generation
      IIMs. Expressing keen interest in reconnecting with their alma mater, the alumni expressed

      enthusiasm about future campus engagement activities and showed a desire to visit the
      campus for ‘Sanshrey.’’

      Alumni Activities:

      The alumni warmly applauded the initiative of organizing Chapter meets and other engaging
      activities  through  the  Alumni  Office  and  the  Alumni  Committee.  Their  appreciation  was  met
      with a promise of continued engagement, with many expressing their anticipation for the
      grand Alumni Meet scheduled for Feb 2024.

      Formation of an Alumni Association:

      An  important  topic  discussed  was  the  significance  of  establishing  an  Alumni  Association.  The
      concept was well-received as it was acknowledged that Alumni Associations (AA) serve as
      valuable avenues for giving back to the Institute that played a pivotal role in shaping their
      careers.

      Alumni Portal:

      The  Alumni  Office  took  the  opportunity  to  encourage  alumni  to  maintain  updated  profiles  on
      the alumni portal. By doing so, they emphasized, alumni can stay connected and the alma
      mater can keep track of their professional journeys.
