Entrepreneurship

The Institute has been partnering with IIMB in promoting entrepreneurship among women in the region. The purpose is to nurture and build
venture development and management skills in a select cohort of aspiring women entrepreneurs in 2018-19. IIMB is extending technical,
-
hand-holding and nancial support (@Rs.30,000/- p.m., per incubate, for one year) in this endeavour. IIM-B in turn is being supported by the
Dept. of Science & Technology, GOI and Goldman Sachs. This initiative, called the Women Start- up Program 2018, commenced in the last week
of Jan. 2018 and ran as a well-structured combination of on-line-cum contact program for a year.
Under the Program, the Institute makes its knowledge-resources (e.g. mentoring by faculty, library etc.) and infrastructure (Wi-Fi enabled environ-
ment) to aspiring women entrepreneurs, in the Incubation Facility.
Apart from this, the Entrepreneurial Passion & Innovation Club (EPIC) of students conducted various events to promote and nurture entrepre-
neurship. The annual event EXORDIA of EPIC witnessed various entrepreneurs, mentors and start-up enthusiasts come onto a common platform
to exchange knowledge, share experiences and bene t from the dissemination of industry’s best practices.
Executive Education Programs
The Institute conducted its first ever Executive Education Program (EEP) for Hindustan Shipyard Ltd. (HSL, A Schedule-B Central Public Sector
Enterprise) with participation by 25 officers up to the level of DGM, from 29/1/2018 to 02/2/2018. The EEP was inaugurated by the Director
(Ship building) of HSL Cmde. A S Mitra, IN (Retd.), and the valedictory address was delivered by the company’s Chairman & Managing Director
R.Adm. L V Sarat Babu, NM, IN (Retd.).
Also, responding to the invitation of SCOPE (Standing Conference of Public Enterprises, New Delhi) the Institute conducted an EEP in the month
of March for executives up to the level of Group General Manager. SCOPE was responsible for marketing the program and enrolment, and, the

Institute, for the design, development and delivery of the Program. Dr U D Choubey, Director General (SCOPE) delivered the inaugural address
and the valedictory session was attended by Shri P Madhusudan, CMD, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. (RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapat-
nam Steel Plant); Shri V V Rao, Director (Finance), RINL; and Shri G Prasad Sarma, Executive Director, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.,
