Major Dhyanchand trophy

IIMV celebrated National Sports Day with a week-
long sports extravaganza in the name of ‘Major
Dhyanchand Trophy’. The event featured a diverse
array of sports, including cricket, football, table
tennis, chess, tug of war, penalty shootout, and
athletics. Participants were divided into four teams,
each named after prominent Indian women leaders:
Team Rani Lakshmi Bai, Team Begum Hazrat, Team
Sarojini Naidu, and Team Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit.
These teams engaged in fierce competition across
the various disciplines, showcasing their athletic
prowess and team spirit. After a series of thrilling
matches and contests, Team Rani Lakshmi Bai
emerged victorious, clinching the trophy with an
impressive score of 129 points. This celebration
not only honoured the legacy of Major Dhyanchand
but also promoted physical fitness, teamwork, and
camaraderie.
