IIM V hosted its first Annual Management Doctoral Colloquium (MDC) ‘Shodh Samagam’ on 9th & 10th December 2021. During this two-day virtual event, papers were presented on topics from Finance, Marketing, Human resource management, Strategic management, Operations and Supply chain management, and other Management related themes.
In his keynote address, Dr. Ravi Vatrapu, Director, Centre for Digital Enterprise Analytics and Leadership (DEAL), Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University, Canada, suggested some best practices in a doctoral journey and the takeaways from a career in academic research. The colloquium also had sessions on Qualitative Research by Prof. Mukta Kulkarni (IIM Bangalore), Doctoral Journey by Prof. Vishal Gupta (IIM Ahmedabad), and on Case Research by Prof. Sanal Kumar Velayudhan (Ex Dean, IIM Kozhikode).
Emphasizing on the importance of building a strong ecosystem of research, Prof. Amit Shankar, faculty at IIMV and Chair – MDC, noted, “The aim of this colloquium is to provide a platform for research scholars to share their ideas and connect with other academicians as well as established researchers, to seek knowledge and learn new research techniques. It will also enable them to refine their ideas based on feedback received from eminent faculty members and other peer researchers.” To promote a quality research culture and encourage the participants, IIM V awarded Cash Prizes and Certificate of Appreciation to the top three best papers presented – Mr. Velavan S (IIM Bangalore), Ms. Nishi Malhotra (IIM Kozhikode), Mr. Satender Pal Singh (IIM Ranchi) received the first, second and third best paper awards respectively.
