New Project 35 1 3

The three-day TEQIP-III Professional Development Training (PDT) Programme at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) starting from December 7, 2020 was the second online TEQIP-III PDT Programme hosted by the Institute. Prof. Jayasankar Ramanathan was Programme Director and Prof. Amit Shankar was the Programme Co-Director. The aim of the programme was to create the needed capacities under TEQIP-III in technical education policy planners and administrators towards gaining greater appreciation for governance, institutional and policy reforms, as well as the management principles, precepts and practices, so that they are able to fulfil the role-responsibilities envisaged of them as mentors, facilitators, and champions of change, with competence and confidence. The training aimed to facilitate networking and knowledge-sharing among the participants and the resource persons, provide insights into effective academic practices, and offered exposure to the latest developments in the academic, professional, and socio-economic contexts. The end goal is to empower the participants to transfer the benefits to their key stakeholders – the students, the community, and to the nation. The three-day programme at IIM Visakhapatnam saw participation from 31 professionals from premier engineering institutions such as NIT Durgapur, ICT Mumbai and The National Institute of Engineering Mysuru to name a few, across 12 states and 1 Union Territory of India. The list of participants included 13 Assistant Professors, 10 Associate Professors, and 8 Professors.
