Vigilance Awareness Week
31 October 2017:
On October 30, 2017 a banner with the slogan “My Vision - Corruption Free India” (“मेरा लक्ष्य - भ्रष्टाचार मुक्त भारत”) was placed at the main gate for creating awareness and sticker signages have been placed in the Institute at clearly visible, eye-catching locations.
On October 31, 2017, a Guest lecture was organized on the topic “Vigilance Awareness”. The Chief Guest was Shri V.V.S Sreenivas, IRSME, Chief Vigilance Officer, Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL). Shri Srinivas addressed the gathering of students and staff of the Institute. He drove home the message that each individual / citizen has a role in promoting a society of probity. Every contribution however small, can make a positive difference. Uprightness and commitment to a clean society are important if the nation as a whole has to progress. As the future change-agents for the nation, the young students have a greater role and responsibility in nurturing a clean environment – both physically and figuratively. As the Mahatma said, they need to be the change they would like to see. They need to lead by example. As students of a prestigious institution like IIM, they need to be role models in professing and practising integrity.
The talk by Shri Sreenivas was followed by an interaction with students and staff. There was a “Q&A” Session too. There was enthusiastic participation resulting in an engaging and meaningful discussion on nurturing a culture of rectitude. Also, students and staff members took a pledge during the session.
Students and staff have also taken the online ledge available on the website of the CVC and obtained their certification.
